Darboy Programs and Services

The Darboy Goodwill Retail Store and Training Center collaborates with Prospera Credit Union and the Financial Information & Service Center (FISC) in providing financial services.

During the 1990s, Wisconsin removed any restriction on the amount of interest that could be charged on loans.  That opened the door for “for-profit” payday lending/cash advance operations to proliferate – some of which charge more than 500% interest for such loans.  These charges can easily result in people spiraling deeper and deeper into debt.

The solution?  GoodMoney, a not-for-profit, limited service branch of Prospera Credit Union, opened in the Goodwill Superstore and Training Center in Darboy.  It offers short-term loans at reduced rates, check-cashing services at reduced fees, and convenience services (wire transfers, money orders, stamps, and bill payment services).

It also offers information about the services available through FISC-CCCS; money management education for those who want to improve their skills proactively, and debt counseling and repayment plans for those who are already in financial trouble.  FISC, the Financial Information & Service Center, is a program of Goodwill NCW.

In addition, Goodwill also provides services to the following agencies and community partners through the Darboy Retail Store and Training Center:

  • Work Services Program
  • Vocational Evaluation Program
  • Work Adjustment Training Program
  • Transitional Support Program
  • School-to-Work Program
