The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), a program of Goodwill NCW, and TCE (Tax Counseling for the Elderly), a program offered at the Goodwill campus, both provide free tax assistance and preparation including electronic filing, to those with low incomes, persons with disabilities and older taxpayers during the tax season, which typically runs from February 1 – April 15.
Volunteer Opportunities: The VITA program is the largest and most successful anti-poverty program in the country. Each year, thousands of dollars are returned to persons in need in our community through claiming valuable tax credits and savings from paying tax preparation fees. Be a part of this important community and economic development program. VITA volunteers are needed to serve as greeters, tax preparers and reviewers at the Goodwill campus. Previous tax experience is helpful, but not mandatory. Training is provided.
