Mark was referred to
Employers' Resource for some assistance in finding an appropriate job.
He - in spite of his intelligence and good humor - was having some
difficulty in making good contacts for employment. Mark lives with some
pain and mobility issues so it isn't easy for him to visit a lot of
businesses. Mark had good experience and transferable skills, but
putting them together with the right business was proving to be somewhat
difficult. Mark thoroughly thought through proposals for employment and
spoke with employers about them, but the corporate offices chose not to
pursue them.
Fortunately, R&B Taxicab & Deliveries saw the value in Mark. The owners
of R&B Taxicab & Deliveries were looking for someone to trust with the
dispatch of their drivers for a couple of shifts each week. After
interviewing Mark, they decided to give him the opportunity he had been
waiting for. Mark started working two shifts per week as a dispatcher.
The owners were pleased with Mark's progress and his dependability, and
had even increased his responsibility to four shifts per week.
But alas, his good fortune was short-lived. In September, R&B Taxi was
forced to cease operations when a national airline - one of their major
creditors - declared bankruptcy. So Employers' Resource is once again
helping to match Mark with the right employment situation.
The most remarkable thing about Mark is his gentle good-humor and
positive attitude. He does live with pain. But pain is not what you
remember about Mark. When you meet him, you will remember his smile and
his easy-going good spirit.
Congratulations, Mark! Thanks for bringing The Goodwill Promise to life.
