The Miracle League of the Fox Valley is an organized baseball league for children ages 4-19 with physical and/or mental disabilities. League games are played at John Wollner Fox Cities Miracle Field at Appleton Memorial Park, a specialized rubber-surfaced field with adjoining universal playground, funded by a community capital campaign led by Goodwill NCW and Miracle League volunteers.
The Miracle League of the Lakeshore became a program of Goodwill in December 2012. A generous contribution from the Manitowoc Jaycees has helped the organization take its first steps toward serving children with special needs in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties and beyond. The League now is investigating possible sites for a custom-designed, rubberized field, raising community awareness, and beginning to raise funds.
As a not-for-profit human services organization, Goodwill NCW uses the revenue from our stores to fund a wide variety of innovative programs and services that serve north central Wisconsin communities. In many cases, we collaborate with community partners, who also bring resources to the cause.
Some of these programs create jobs, offer training, and match assistive technology to those who need it. Others address financial, educational, developmental or diversity issues. All make our communities better places in which to live.
