Springtime is Wedding Season. And we can help you say yes to the dress for a whole lot less. We've got the white gowns; you'll savor the green savings.
Now that warmer weather has finally arrived, plenty of distractions -- from blockbusters to beaches -- abound.
That's why Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin (NCW) is asking you to consider making the extra effort to fill a box or bag (any box or bag will do) on our behalf with your used clothing, shoes, glassware, appliances and electronics, and other housewares.
A long winter and cold start to the spring have shortened Goodwill NCW's traditional "donation season," explained Community Engagement Leader Jim Vanden Boom.
"Even though our donation cycles peak seasonally, the needs served by our non-profit organization never go away," he said. "Goodwill NCW assisted nearly 50,000 people last year alone -- and those needs are just as urgent in the summer as they are in the spring and fall. Your donations are what allow us to provide the programs and services that make a difference in your community."
"Convenience is the key," Vanden Boom noted. "We want our donors -- no matter where they live -- to have fast and easy access to a drop-off site. And when it's a staffed site, we will provide donors with a receipt so they can get a tax deduction for their generosity."
If you visit one of our conveniently located donation bins, you also can print a receipt by clicking here.
More and more "for profit" thrift shops are moving into north central Wisconsin, extracting your donated merchandise for their own enrichment with little to no thought of reinvesting in the community or employment of local individuals.
Maybe there's a Goodwill donation bin in the parking lot of your local grocery store or neighborhood bank? Perhaps you drive by one of our weekend donation trailers? Perhaps you live in the vicinity of one of our stores or Donation Express sites? Whatever option is easiest for you ... please consider making that little extra effort during the warm weather months to help our organization continue fulfilling its mission.
