On Wednesday October 26, 2005 the new Goodwill NCW  Retail Store and Training Center in Waupaca opened its doors to the public.  The new facility will help Goodwill NCW expand its mission.  The 20,000-square-foot store, the nineteenth in the area, will employ about 20 people. In addition, it will be a training ground for people with disabilities or other barriers to employment, helping them develop skills and experience to become as independent as possible.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing the benefits of Goodwill directly to Waupaca,” said Scott Copeland, Goodwill chief operating officer for retail and logistics. “Most importantly, we’ll have relationships with other local human services organizations to provide training opportunities and vouchers for free merchandise for families in need, and we’ll develop other programs to meet needs in the Waupaca area.”

Additionally, FISC, the Financial Information and Service Center, will maintain an office within the new location.  FISC is a not-for-profit program of Goodwill NCW that provides practical financial advice for real people, including money management workshops, counseling and debt management plans.
