Fashionista: Count on thrift for layered winter pieces

When it’s freezing cold outside, there is nothing better than loading on layered winter pieces.

Thrift store layering pieces most definitely will keep you warm, and these looks come together easily with a few tips.

Opt for pieces such as cardigans, sweaters, vests, turtlenecks or any type of long-sleeve shirt. Then add jeans or leggings and warm-weather scarves.

Also look for sweaters with multi colors such as in this outfit.

In this case, my sweater features deep burgundy with light pink and white so I chose a lighter-toned pink, long-sleeve sweater and burgundy leggings. Added details are fun as well with the fringe and white eyelet trim, which gives it an even deeper texture.

Goodwill makes it even easier for you to layer because the clothing is sorted by color.

Here’s a breakdown of my look: Gimmicks multi-colored sweater, $8.99; Cynthia Rowley long-sleeve sweater, $5.99; burgundy leggings on clearance, $2.99. The boots are from my closet.

Let’s stay warm and fashionable at the same time, GW shoppers!
