Fashionista: Favorite finds at the thrift store

Here’s a question for all you Goodwill shoppers. When you shop your local GW, is there a print you tend to gravitate to? Perhaps stripes, florals, polka dots or maybe my favorite gingham?

When I saw this adorable gingham wrap shirt I knew it was coming home with me. The added detail of ruched sleeves sealed the deal. Look how adorable the bow is once it’s tied. Gingham screams summer to me.

Gingham is one of my favorite thrift-store finds, and here are some more.

If you see wrap dresses or shirts, put them in your cart! They are flattering for all body shapes because they cinch naturally to show your waist. You will automatically look slimmer.

I was having a great shopping day at Goodwill and found a comfy pull-on pair of pants in black that is sure to be another favorite piece. Here’s the twist. They have slits on the bottom that go to just about mid-knee so they have ventilation for a no-sweat summer look. Plus, according to the tag, they travel well. That means you can pack and unpack with no wrinkles. Oh, did I mention they still had the original tag on? Bonus for this fashionista!

A bright pink clutch with tassels pulls this look all together.

Here’s the cost breakdown on this fun summer look: Active USA gingham wrap shirt, $8.99; Beyond Proper pull-on travel pant, $8.99; Maurices clutch, $3.99. The pink bracelets are from my closet.

Shop your local GW and help the community at the same time. Chances are you will find some of your favorite things!
