Trendy jeans for 2019
Jeans are a wardrobe staple, there’s no doubt about it. They are seasonless, versatile, durable, classic, trendy, ageless, you name it.
For several years now, skinny jeans have been the “it” thing. They slim. They balance out the blousy tops. They are flattering. We get it, but it’s time to branch out, girlfriends. It’s time to hit refresh, and these new trendy jeans are proof of that.
Bootcut jeans are coming back. We’re not actually sure if they really went away completely, but either way, we’re happy to see this trend resurrect itself and here’s why: Bootcut jeans are universally flattering on every shape and size. If you wear them with a heel, they can elongate your legs. Just make sure the jeans are long enough or they will have the opposite effect and make you look sloppy. Look for a pair that is slim through the hips and thighs and have a slight flair from the knees to the floor.
Straight-cut jeans are going to be all the rage in 2019, and we can hear ladies breathing a sigh of relief. Yes, finally jeans that leave us some space to move around in! Straight-cut jeans have a hem width that is straight from the hip to the ankle. Choose a darker wash, which visually slims.
Wide-leg jeans are the most eye-catching of 2019 jean trends. Look for jeans that are wide all the way to the floor, even through the hips and thighs. These trendy jeans are not meant to hug or skim your curves. The key to wearing wide-leg jeans is tucking in your shirt to define your waist. If you wear it untucked, you’ll look like a baggy mess. Remember to counterbalance the loose bottom by wearing something slimmer on top. Wear with some heels to lengthen and elongate your frame.
We see a lot of buttons being buttoned in 2019. Buttoned jeans are very popular, and we think this style pairs perfectly with the trend of partially tucking in tops and sweaters. The more buttons, the better … until you have to go to the bathroom, that is!
The embroidered jeans style has carried over from last year’s top trendy jeans styles and has no plans on going anywhere anytime soon. That makes us happy. Embroidery is a great way to add a pop and some visual interest to any outfit. Usually jeans are the “supportive” piece in an outfit, but embroidery brings out more personality.
The details are in the hems. Look for jean styles that feature distressed and unsewn hems. To take this style to the next level, choose a raw hem that is shorter in the front of the leg and longer in the back.
