Goodwill NCW open Donation Express in Little Chute
Little Chute — The eighth Donation Express facility in Goodwill NCW’s Fox River corridor will open to the public at 9 a.m., Thursday, March 12, at 1921 E. Main Street.
The new facility is adjacent to Larry’s Piggly Wiggly, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. The first 40 donors at the Little Chute Donation Express will receive a coupon for a free Papa Murphy’s pizza.
The Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce will partner with Goodwill NCW for a ribbon-cutting celebration when the facility opens.
Each Donation Express is staffed by Goodwill team members, who help donors with their contributions of used clothing and household items. The resale of those contributions provides financial support for the 27 programs and services in Goodwill NCW’s 35-county footprint.
Goodwill NCW’s Donation Express sites are intended to ease the donation process, with staffing and closer access in the communities served by the organization. The strategy has been successful, and plans are under way to create more Donation Express facilities across the service area over the next three years.
“We’re excited to offer another facility in the Heart of the Valley,” said Dan Flannery, Goodwill NCW’s vice president of community relations.
“Our Kaukauna location, on the corner of State 55 and County CE, has been a successful spot for collection of donations. So, we’re confident that our friends in Little Chute and elsewhere in that important part of the Fox Cities will take advantage of the opportunity to support our human-services mission.”
Aside from Little Chute and Kaukauna, Donation Express sites are in Neenah, Town of Menasha, Appleton (Northland Avenue), Oshkosh, Howard and De Pere.
In 2014, Goodwill NCW accepted almost 44.2 million pounds of donations across the state, a new organizational record. Goodwill NCW has seen a steady increase in donations since adopting a model that includes Donation Express sites and additional donation bins in high-traffic areas in the Fox Valley.
