What is restorative justice?

Eau Claire County Restorative Justice is a community partnership dedicated to building a safer community by discouraging crime, restoring victim well-being and emphasizing direct offender accountability. This partnership is made possible with the help of Eau Claire County and Goodwill NCW.

Benefits of restorative justice

The goal of restorative justice is to heal and empower all participants to move forward toward the future, including the victim, the offender and the community.

Offenders who meet their victim(s) are less likely to reoffend, more likely to meet their repair obligations and more apt to experience meaningful accountability.

Victims who meet their offender(s) report higher satisfaction with the justice system response, less fear of being revictimized and more influence over the case outcome.
